Update: “Suspicious substance” mailed to Supreme Court

A letter mailed to the Minnesota Supreme Court contained a “small amount of a suspicious substance,” said Bruce Gordon, spokesman for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

Court employees reported the substance to Capitol Security Tuesday, and the St. Paul Fire Department took the letter to a lab for testing. No evacuations or injuries occurred, Gordon said.

Update: The letter “did not contain a specific threat,” Gordon said, noting that tests were negative for hazardous substances. The investigation into the letter is ongoing.
