Supreme Court Avoids Ruling on Proposition 8 Case

The Supreme Court avoided a ruling on a second gay-marriage case, California’s Proposition 8 ban on gay marriage, saying in a 5-4 ruling by Chief Justice John Roberts that it lacked jurisdiction to hear the case.
